No. The X5 cannot communicate directly with standard Godox X-system flashes or triggers. It requires an iT32 flash body as the communication bridge.

What functions does the X5 have when used separately from the iT32?

When the X5 is used separately from the iT32—meaning the X5 is on the camera hotshoe while the iT32 is positioned off-camera—the X5 can only fire the flash through the iT32’s relay. In this separated mode, the X5 does not provide TTL, power adjustment, mode change, or HSS control. It serves solely as a basic trigger.

What functions are available when the X5 is mounted directly onto the iT32?

When the X5 is mounted directly on the iT32 to form a single integrated unit, full functionality becomes available. In this combined mode, the X5 provides TTL, manual power control, mode switching, HSS, and group/channel configuration for one or multiple iT32 flashes. This is the mode designed for full performance.

Does the X5 support TCM (TTL → Manual conversion)?

No. The X5 does not support TCM conversion, and the TTL reading cannot be instantly converted to a manual power value.
